Art in every form may be the most powerful means of expression and communication between civilizations from every corner of the world. A painting, a text, a melody can connect people who speak a different language, have different beliefs, habits and dreams. People who seem to have nothing in common, in fact, share one important characteristic: their rights. Fundamental human rights are one of the most important issues worldwide. Even though they apply to everyone, in reality, many times they are not encroached. That is the reason why their reassurance is not just a vision, but a principal human pursuit.
As an international hub of communication, art can, not only talk about human rights, but also contribute substantially to the creation of a sustainable world for everyone. With every pencil, paper or brush pointing towards this direction, we are one step closer to social change because art is much more than “a beautiful painting”. Through it everyone can speak to everyone about everyone. We just have to blink our eyes a little and listen to what it has to say to us – thus, we’ll see that art can change the world.
